Binary Introduces EP321 Hybrid IEMs: World's First Pair with Direct Drive MEMS Technology

At Binary Acoustics, our dedicated team of acoustic engineers are constantly innovating in the field of HiFi Audio. Today, we are super excited to announce a brand-new pair of in-ear monitors, the Binary Acoustics EP321. It’s not just another IEM in this hugely competitive market; we are bringing you a generational leap ahead in the world of hybrid IEMs with the EP321. We have designed the EP321 as the world’s first pair of in-ear monitors with revolutionary Direct Drive MEMS technology. The pair has a six-driver hybrid configuration featuring dual dynamic drivers, three balanced armature drivers, and one Direct Drive MEMS driver.

In this rapidly evolving world of high-fidelity audio, MEMS(Micro-Electro-Mechanical System Drivers) are widely acclaimed as the next frontier for treble responsiveness; however, traditional implementations have always faced a significant hurdle: they require bulky, specially designed external amplifiers to drive them. Our innovative new Direct Drive MEMS driver equipped on the EP321 has no such requirements, yet it packs a strong, sensational sound with ultra-low distortion and high clarity.

The pair features a built-in energizer directly within the driver’s architecture. This allows the EP321 to deliver the lightning-fast transient response and ultra-low distortion characteristic of MEMS technology, but with the ease of use of a standard dynamic driver. Whether you are using a professional DAP or a standard dongle DAC, the EP321 delivers electrostatic-like treble extension without the need for complex external equipment.

As mentioned previously, we have equipped our latest EP321 with a six-driver tribrid configuration featuring dual dynamic drivers, three balanced armature drivers, and one direct drive MEMS driver. The pair features one 10mm dynamic driver with a 6mm wool passive diaphragm; together, this setup produces a strong and sensational lower-end

Then we have a full-range balanced armature driver that is precisely tuned to deliver quality vocals and detailed instruments in the midrange section. In order to produce a solid high-frequency response, we have a composite dual balanced armature driver unit producing an accurate, extended high-frequency band. Lastly, the revolutionary MEMS driver is here for fast transients and wide extensions in the ultra-high frequency band. The drivers are arranged together in a professionally designed crossover system that ensures each driver works to its full potential and delivers a remarkable sound quality!!

To enhance the user’s experience with the EP321, we needed to make sure we designed a unique and innovative look as well. We believe an IEM should be a piece of functional art. To achieve our vision, we have developed the pair with a CNC-machined stainless steel face cover featuring irregular geometrical patterns designed to catch and reflect light in different colours.

This gives the set a unique and appealing look. Beneath the stunning face panels, we have 3D printed resin material ear shells. By utilizing massive amounts of ear-shape data, we have sculpted a housing that weighs just 7.5 grams, ensuring the monitors disappear into your ears for long listening sessions.

The EP321 is designed for audiophiles who seek a quality sound output. Exciting bass, rich vocals, and neat, defined treble, a signature that complements different genres of music. It is available in both 3.5mm as well as 4.4mm termination options. We have priced the EP321 attractively at just $309.99. It is available through our official dealers worldwide!!
